The unit cares for patients admitted to our hospitalist service. Our specialties include acute medical and respiratory conditions. Specialized training includes CORE EKG class, telemetry monitoring, ventilator care and long‑term ventilated patient support. Collaboration occurs with charge nurse and onsite virtual nurses.
Position PurposeThe Registered Nurse participants in various roles to ensure quality patient care, ranging from direct patient care to supervisory or consultative services. RN roles include orientation to CORE EKG, end‑of‑life, respiratory care and specialty classes.

- Collaborate, communicate and facilitate optimal patient care through computerized or digital platforms.
- Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate patient’s plan of care from admission to discharge.
- Utilize clinical knowledge, critical thinking and case management principles to support the care plan.
- Monitor quality metrics and ensure complete and accurate documentation.
- Deliver quality care in accordance with New York regulatory agencies, national standards and nursing standards.
- Maintain knowledge of health‑care economics, reimbursement methodologies, and apply to practice; recognize situations requiring immediate intervention and continue professional development.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school and current licensure in the State of New York.
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Specialty credentialing or educational degree according to clinical nursing specialty area preferred.
- Maintains all licensures and certifications in accordance with NYS regulations.
- Participation in continuing education and maintenance of skills related to specific areas of expertise.
$37.60–$58.35 per hour, based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions will be paid within the stated hourly rates. Pay may vary by location.
