We have an exciting opportunity for licensed experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) with a passion for education to support the academic success of our nursing students.

As a part-time tutor, you will play a vital role in preparing future nurses by offering academic guidance, mentorship, and support. Join our dedicated team of educators committed to excellence in nursing education and student achievement.

What you will do
  • Provide academic tutoring and support to nursing students across various program formats.
  • Be well‑prepared academically to assist students in understanding nursing concepts and coursework.
  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in education and student success.
  • Be available during predetermined hours, including evenings and weekends, with flexibility during intensive academic periods.
  • Collaborate effectively with faculty and staff to support student learning.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program required.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative academic team.
  • Prior tutoring or teaching experience preferred.

St. Joseph’s College of Nursing (SJCON) offers a hospital‑based Associate in Applied Science degree with a major in Nursing. Program options include traditional Weekday, Dual Degree Partnership in Nursing (DDPN), Evening/Weekend (E/WE), and Accelerated DDPN (ADDPN) formats. These programs are offered in partnership with Le Moyne College (LMC), providing a dual‑degree pathway.

SJCON is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).

Pay Range

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary based on location.
