Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) — Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care
Location: Onondaga, NY 13215 (Onondaga County)
Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time | Part-Time | Per Diem
Pay: $21.16/hr
A skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Onondaga, NY is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to join its nursing team in a direct hire, permanent role. The CNA provides hands-on daily care to residents under the direction of the charge nurse (RN/LPN), helping residents with activities of daily living and keeping the nursing team informed of any changes. This is a hands-on floor role in a resident-centered, survey-ready building.
Key Responsibilities- Assist residents with activities of daily living: bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinence care, and oral care
- Assist with mobility, transfers, repositioning, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and lift equipment
- Serve meals, assist with feeding, and record meal intake and fluid intake/output
- Take and record vital signs, weights, and observations; report changes in condition to the charge nurse promptly
- Document care accurately in the EHR (Point Click Care or comparable)
- Keep resident rooms clean, safe, and organized; answer call lights promptly
- Follow infection control, fall prevention, and resident rights policies; support survey readiness at all times
- Communicate with residents and families with respect, dignity, and compassion
- Active New York State Nurse Aide certification (in good standing on the NYS Nurse Aide Registry)
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
- Skilled nursing/long-term care experience preferred; new graduates welcome to apply
- Physical requirements:
able to lift/assist up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods - Must pass background check (including NYS CHRC fingerprinting) and drug screen; TB screening and immunization records required
- Competitive pay of $21.16/hr
