Retail Finance Associate for the Syracuse, NY Branch.

The Retail Finance Associate plays a key role in driving dealership sales by providing customers with customized financing and leasing solutions for new and used construction equipment. This position works closely with the sales team, customers, and lending partners to secure competitive finance programs that enhance customer satisfaction and dealership sales. The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with relationship-building skills and a deep understanding of the equipment industry.

• Partner with the sales team to structure financing options that meet customer needs and support sales objectives.
• Promote and quote finance and lease options to customers, positioning payment programs as a key part of the sales process.
• Build and maintain relationships with banks, captive finance companies, and third-party lenders to secure competitive terms and flexible credit solutions.
• Review credit applications and coordinate approval decisions with lenders; ensure accurate, complete, and timely submission of all required documentation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of manufacturer incentive programs, seasonal promotions, special rate offers and distribute these to the sales team.
• Negotiate finance and lease terms, balancing customer satisfaction and dealership objectives.
• Keep deals moving forward. Follow up on approvals and paperwork so transactions close timely and smoothly.
• Monitor funding turnaround times, ensuring transactions are closed efficiently and cash flow goals are met.
• Track financing activity, lender concentration, and overall finance penetration rates.
• Ensure compliance with all policies and applicable lending laws and regulations (including truth-in-lending and data privacy requirements).
• Provide ongoing support to the sales team regarding finance programs, credit/financing procedures, and customer presentation techniques.
• Stay informed of market trends, interest rate movements, and competitor programs to ensure competitive positioning.
• Align financial strategies with sales objectives by collaborating with the Sales Department to develop programs that stimulate revenue growth

• Strong sales acumen with the ability to “sell the payment” and close deals alongside sales staff.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
• High attention to detail and strong numerical and analytical ability.
• Self-motivated, persistent, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2-4 years of experience in equipment finance, leasing, retail lending, or similar.
• Experience in heavy truck or equipment industry strongly preferred.
