Job Description

As a Security Officer - Hospital Grounds Patrol Driver in Syracuse, NY
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Officer in a dynamic healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, helping to deter security‑related incidents and providing a reassuring presence. This is a driving post, so you will operate a vehicle as part of your patrol duties. You will engage with staff, patients, and visitors, delivering exceptional customer service in line with Allied Universal’s values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide customer service by carrying out security‑related procedures, following site‑specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner within the healthcare environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help deter unauthorized activities and/or potential issues.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security‑related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist patients, visitors, and staff with directions and general information as needed.
  • Support access control procedures by monitoring entrances and exits to help deter unauthorized entry.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare staff and first responders during incidents and/or emergencies.
  • Maintain a professional presence while interacting with the public and representing Allied Universal at the location.
Minimum Requirements
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 6 months of security‑related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
