Job SummaryThe Sr. Field Technician will inspect, test, and maintain High, Medium, and Low electrical power equipment. Technicians will work with equipment such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and variants of switches both manual and motor operated. Technicians will implement safety policies.

- Lead safety briefings on job site, identify, eliminate, or mitigate hazards.
- Perform High, Medium, and Low voltage testing of electrical power equipment as a crew leader.
- Utilize Human Performance Error Elimination concepts and tools.
- Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning.
- Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components.
- Lead in Safety Culture and be responsible for other team members.
- Install, test, and maintain electrical apparatus.
- Understand theory behind and reasons for testing to analyze results.
- Develop and write reports.
- Create plans for testing apparatus.
- Project manage large scale and complex projects.
- Train and qualify Field Technician I, II and III.
- Interact with customers.
- Perform complex troubleshooting.
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
- Able to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
- Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with the following test equipment:
- Power Factor
- Ductor
- Megger
- CT ratio & saturation
- Hi-Pot
- Knowledge of the following equipment:
- Circuit Breakers
- Low Voltage (LV), Medium Voltage (MV), High Voltage (HV)
- Transformers
- Switchgear
- Motors
- PT's & CCVT's
- Bachelors or Associates Degree in Electrical / Electronic technology, or Military experience preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- NETA III Certified, NETA IV Certified a plus.
- Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 70 lbs.
