Maintenance Technician

• Full‑time, Non‑exempt
• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
• On‑call rotation (7 days a week, every 4 weeks)
• Locations:
  Hillside Apartments (1530 East Genesee Street, Syracuse, NY 13210) or West Part Apartments (1445 South Salina Street, Syracuse, NY 13205)

• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of building(s) and grounds.
• Perform routine painting, minor plumbing, electrical wiring, carpentry, drywall, and general maintenance using hand and power tools.
• Assist with HVAC maintenance and safety compliance.
• Monitor safety and OSHA requirements; willing to receive training.
• Execute grounds maintenance (mowing, trimming, snow/ice removal).
• Dispose of waste and maintain storage areas.
• Secure building after work and report security violations.
• Report major repair needs and emergency maintenance issues promptly.
• Adhere to company policies and health/safety procedures.
• Attend on‑call emergencies within 30 minutes of notification; may cover other Conifer locations.
• Complete overtime or additional tasks as required.
• Attend work location during scheduled hours.
• Assist other Conifer locations as needed.
• Perform related maintenance and cleaning duties as assigned.

• 1–2 + years of apartment maintenance experience.
• Skills in painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, carpentry, drywall, and cleaning.
• HVAC knowledge a plus or willingness to train.
• Knowledge of safety rules for cleaning supplies and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to read and follow policies, manuals, and product instructions.
• Computer navigation for timekeeping, training and development, work‑order processing.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Vocational training in building, construction, or maintenance a plus.
• Certifications in environmental hazards, maintenance, or building construction a plus or willingness to obtain.
• OSHA knowledge helpful.
