Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Installation Technician

The Industrial Electrician will install, maintain, diagnose, analyze, troubleshoot, and perform electrical and mechanical repairs on plant electrical, electronic, and computer numerically controlled equipment. This role requires the ability to analyze equipment and circuitry, diagnose problems, and repair or adjust all types of electronic devices and systems. The position includes rotation for site emergencies with other JLL Electricians and HVAC Technicians.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing/plant equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and calibration activities
- Work with computers, PLCs, and other electronic systems
- Install, test, repair, and replace motors, drives, controls, starters, lights, and power systems
- Input data into the JLL CMMS and/or Corrigo system for work orders and corrective maintenance
- Follow industry best practices for safety procedures, including Arc Flash Protection and Lock Out Tag Out
- Investigate and offer improvements to plant operations
- Service, clean, inspect, and repair equipment following established preventive maintenance schedules
- Safely operate mobile equipment such as fork trucks, carts, lifts, and boom lifts
- Create notifications and follow up on needed repairs and order required parts
- Read and interpret engineering drawings relevant to assigned jobs
- Install electrical systems and equipment according to NEC provisions and best practices
- Prepare and order parts and materials needed for jobs
- High School Diploma (Technical school preferred)
- Journeyman's card
- 3–5 years of recent work experience in the Electrical trade
- Experience with controls and control systems
- Knowledge of industry best practices for safety procedures
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches
- Advanced math calculation skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Strong communication skills
- Technical school education or formal apprenticeship completion
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
- Understanding of belts, belt drives, chain drives, gear boxes, and conveyors
- Experience with machining equipment such as band saw, drill press, and lathe
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity for using hand and power tools
- Ability to work at heights using ladders and lifts
- Visual acuity to read gauges, instruments, and technical documentation
Location:
Syracuse, NY
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
Sign‑on Bonus: $1,500
- First 60 days: $37.75/hr
- 60 days to 16 weeks: $38.39/hr
- After 16 weeks: $39.12/hr
- Voluntary overtime available
Estimated compensation for this position: $77,750.00 – $83,200.00 USD per year.
