Overview
ARISE seeks a self-directed, highly motivated person who is interested in joining our housing services team to help individuals with disabilities find affordable and, if needed, accessible housing options in Onondaga County. The majority of time will be spent finding apartment leads and assisting consumers secure appropriate housing. This position is also responsible for making monthly check-in calls to a limited number of individuals who receive rental assistance from one of our agency's housing assistance programs.
As an Independent Living Center (ILC), ARISE promotes the full inclusion of people with disabilities in the community.
- Find apartment leads and assist consumers in securing appropriate housing.
- Make monthly check-in calls to individuals who receive rental assistance from ARISE housing programs.
- Visit housing sites, including inaccessible locations, to assess suitability and accessibility.
- Represent ARISE as an Independent Living Center to promote inclusion of people with disabilities in the community.
- High school diploma.
- Knowledge of community resources (housing and ADA regulations).
- Ability to visit inaccessible housing sites.
- Valid, violation-free NYS driver s license and access to registered, inspected, insured reliable transportation.
