Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position for a Lifeguard located in Syracuse, NY. The Lifeguard will ensure the safety of all pool patrons by monitoring swimming activities, enforcing pool rules, and administering first aid or emergency care when necessary. Responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness of pool facilities, conducting regular water safety checks, and providing exceptional customer service. The Lifeguard will collaborate with school staff to promote a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for students and community members.

Qualifications

• Strong swimming and water rescue skills, including the ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Knowledge of pool safety regulations and ability to enforce safety rules with professionalism and understanding.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with students, staff, and community members.
• Proficient in first aid, CPR, and basic emergency response protocols; current certifications in lifeguarding and CPR are required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor large groups in an aquatic environment.
• Understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
• Previous experience as a lifeguard, swim instructor, or related role is preferred but not mandatory.
