Position: Operation & Maintenance Operator (Power)
Overview

Job Summary:

Operates and monitors a hybrid power generation facility consisting of photovoltaic (PV) arrays, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and internal combustion engine (ICE) generators. Ensures the safe and efficient operation of all systems, performs routine checks, and assists with basic maintenance and troubleshooting to maintain stable and reliable power output.

Responsibilities
  • Comply with safety rules and regulations. Be familiar with the fire equipment's in his area.
  • Follow the instructions of the Shift Supervisor/Shift Engineer and Senior O&M Operator.
  • Coordinate with the Shift Supervisor/Shift Engineer and with other Operators in regard to all activities that affect them. Monitor all parameters and enter periodic readings on log sheets. Summarize all activities/events that took place during his shift in the log book.
  • Inspect the area and auxiliaries during the shift to make sure that all equipment parameters are within limits. Report abnormalities to the Senior O&M Operator and Shift Supervisor/Shift Engineer
  • Perform equipment changeover according to preset schedules. Raise work requests or defect notes for faulty equipment.
  • Coordinate with Shift Supervisor/Shift Engineer for isolating and lining up the equipments and system before and after maintenance. Maintain a tidy work area and ensure clean up after maintenance work.
  • Perform electrical switching for low, medium voltages.
  • Awareness about electrical/mechanical systems hazards, and ability to perform operational tasks on electrical/mechanical systems in a safe manner.
  • Assist in the training and familiarization of new local desalination operators.
  • Follow standard procedures
  • Use proper PPEs and implement prescribed risk controls
  • Report deviations in Quality, Health and safety management system
  • Report emergencies and near misses
  • Ensure proper waste disposal measures
Qualifications
  • Minimum Education:

    Diploma (Technical)
  • Minimum years of experience: 4 years
