Mechanical Engineer – Piping and HVAC in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia is a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering opportunity focused on the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of piping networks, HVAC systems, ductwork, and high-capacity pumping stations. The role provides technical leadership across the design review, procurement, construction, and commissioning stages of major mechanical infrastructure systems, ensuring compliance with specifications, international codes, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Review mechanical design drawings, calculations, technical specifications, and equipment schedules.
- Assess piping layouts, hydraulic profiles, ducting systems, HVAC designs, and pumping-station arrangements.
- Verify compliance with ASME, ASHRAE, project specifications, approved design criteria, and client standards.
- Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical proposals.
- Identify design conflicts, constructability concerns, access limitations, and maintenance issues before installation.
- Perform or verify fluid‑flow calculations, pump sizing, pressure‑loss analysis, and system‑capacity assessments.
- Review piping stress calculations, support arrangements, expansion requirements, and equipment connections.
- Check duct sizing, static‑pressure calculations, air‑distribution layouts, and ventilation requirements.
- Supervise the installation of piping, pumps, valves, fittings, supports, ductwork, and HVAC equipment.
- Confirm that mechanical installations follow approved drawings, specifications, and quality procedures.
- Coordinate mechanical works with civil, structural, electrical, architectural, and instrumentation teams.
- Resolve clashes involving pipe routes, equipment foundations, cable systems, structural elements, and access requirements.
- Evaluate technical bids for pumps, valves, piping materials, HVAC equipment, and mechanical accessories.
- Review vendor data sheets, compliance schedules, performance curves, certifications, and technical deviations.
- Participate in factory acceptance tests, equipment inspections, and vendor technical meetings where required.
- Witness hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing of piping systems.
- Monitor flushing, cleaning, disinfection, leak testing, and system reinstatement activities.
- Witness duct leakage testing, air balancing, airflow measurements, and HVAC performance verification.
- Review pump testing, hydraulic performance, vibration readings, alignment checks, and operational results.
- Support pre‑commissioning, commissioning, system start‑up, troubleshooting, and final acceptance.
- Prepare technical reports, inspection records, test documentation, engineering comments, and progress updates.
- Verify that as‑built drawings, operating manuals, test certificates, and handover records are complete.
- Support safe construction practices related to pressure systems, lifting, confined spaces, and rotating equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 7 years of direct mechanical engineering experience.
- Strong practical background in piping systems, HVAC, ducting, pumps, or mechanical infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience supporting large‑scale infrastructure, utilities, industrial, or mega‑project developments.
- Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, pump hydraulics, pressure losses, and mechanical system design.
- Practical understanding of piping stress analysis, supports, expansion, and equipment connections.
- Ability to review duct static‑pressure calculations, airflow requirements, and HVAC system performance.
- Working knowledge of ASME, ASHRAE, and other applicable international engineering standards.
- Experience reviewing shop drawings, technical submittals, vendor documents, and construction method statements.
- Proficiency with Caesar II, Pipenet, AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable engineering software.
- Strong inspection, testing, commissioning, and technical reporting capability.
