Job Purpose
  • The Head Technician is a site-based role responsible for ensuring the operational readiness, safety, and reliability of all dive-related equipment across the assigned asset(s). The role oversees the day-to-day management, inspection, servicing, repair, and recordkeeping of dive equipment, ensuring all assets function as intended and are maintained in line with manufacturer recommendations, local regulations, company standards, and operational requirements.
Job Responsibilities

General

  • Report to the Manager – Dive Operation and ensure all dive-related equipment is safe, serviceable, and operating as intended.
  • Lead the day-to-day technical management of diving equipment, including inspection, testing, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Support the planning and development of equipment requirements for current and future dive center assets.
  • Provide technical support to other dive center locations, as required, to maintain consistent equipment standards across assets.
  • Work flexibly across site-based, remote, and office environments in line with operational needs.

Establishment of Dive Center:
Pre-Opening

  • Support the Manager – Dive Operation in preparing, setting up, and commissioning dive center equipment and related technical components.
  • Coordinate with relevant RSG departments during the delivery stage to ensure equipment requirements, operational readiness, and project milestones are achieved.
  • Assist in establishing maintenance schedules, inventory controls, spare-parts planning, and technical documentation prior to opening.

Establishment of Dive Center:
Post-Opening

  • Maintain high equipment operating standards, with safety as the first priority at all times.
  • Ensure all dive center equipment, maintenance, servicing, and repairs are completed professionally, accurately, and within required timelines.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all dive-related equipment, tools, spare parts, and technical assets.
  • Keep complete and accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, servicing, repairs, faults, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with the Dive Center Manager and operational teams to ensure sufficient spare parts and consumables are available for future servicing and repairs.
  • Build effective working relationships with managers, colleagues, suppliers, service providers, and operational stakeholders.
  • Support the daily running of the dive center by providing technical guidance and ensuring equipment readiness for guests and operational activities.

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

  • Comply with all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and work instructions to ensure the dive center operates in a safe, controlled, and consistent manner.

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Apply safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to protect employees, guests, and the public; ensure legislative compliance; support high-quality service delivery; and promote responsible environmental practices.
