Job PurposeThe Senior Instructor - Watersports is responsible for leading on-water instruction and supporting the safe, professional delivery of world-class watersports experiences across WAMA operations. The role supports operational excellence by supervising instructors, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and delivering exceptional guest experiences aligned with RSSE and Red Sea Global values.
The position plays a key role in developing watersports capability in the Kingdom by supporting guest progression from introductory experiences to advanced training, while promoting environmental awareness and best practice on the water.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise instructors across watersports activities, including windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, SUP, kayaking, and foiling (Wing & E-Foil).
- Oversee daily on-water operations, ensuring safety, professionalism, and compliance with SOPs and H&S requirements.
- Deliver high-quality instruction and coaching to guests of varying skill levels.
- Act as a role model for safety, service excellence, and environmental responsibility.
- Monitor weather and sea conditions and support operational decision making.
- Support team training, mentoring, and performance development.
- Ensure equipment is operated and maintained in line with standards.
- Collect guest feedback and support service recovery where required.
- Assist with operational reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Apply all safety, quality, and environmental management policies to ensure guest and employee safety, regulatory compliance, and responsible marine practices.
- Promote respect for the marine environment and sustainability principles in all activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience instructing across multiple watersports (Middle East experience preferred).
- RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor or equivalent.
- Team leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience delivering youth and adult watersports programs.
Skills
- Strong leadership and customer service orientation.
- Excellent communication skills; fluent English (Arabic preferred).
- Ability to manage complex situations calmly and effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Cultural awareness and ability to work in diverse environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
