Red Sea Sport & Entertainment (RSSE), a subsidiary of Red Sea Global (RSG), is responsible for designing and delivering world class land and marine experiences at The Red Sea destination. RSSE operates a diverse portfolio of sports, adventure, and leisure offerings, including watersports through Galaxea, adventure experiences via Akun, and leisure programs via WAMA.

Job Purpose

The Senior Manager - Watersports is responsible for the strategic leadership, management, and operational excellence of all WAMA watersports programs across Red Sea Global destinations. This role oversees the full range of watersports activities-including sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, SUP, kayaking, and foiling-ensuring exceptional guest experiences, safety, and operational performance.

The Senior Manager develops the team of instructors and operational staff, implements standardized procedures, drives continuous improvement, and ensures alignment with RSSE's sustainability, quality, and brand standards. The role also plays a pivotal part in positioning RSSE as a world class watersports provider while contributing to long term growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing watersports management and instructor team.
  • Set clear operational and performance standards and monitor adherence.
  • Support workforce planning, training, and career development initiatives.
  • Foster a guest-centric, safety-focused, and environmentally responsible team culture.

Operational Oversight

  • Oversee day-to-day watersports operations to ensure seamless and safe guest experiences.
  • Ensure operational readiness, equipment maintenance, and adherence to SOPs and H&S standards.
  • Monitor environmental conditions, operational risks, and on-water decision-making.
  • Implement strategic programs to enhance guest engagement, participation, and satisfaction.

Strategic Planning & Program Development

  • Develop and execute watersports programs aligned with RSSE objectives, guest expectations, and global best practices.
  • Introduce innovation, technology, and new experiences to enhance service offerings.
  • Collaborate with RSSE divisions to integrate watersports into broader destination experiences.

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Uphold and enforce rigorous safety, quality, and environmental management standards.
  • Promote marine conservation, environmental awareness, and sustainable practices across operations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, certifications, and organizational policies.
  • Prepare and analyze operational reports, KPIs, and guest feedback metrics.
  • Identify areas for process improvement, cost optimization, and enhanced operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making for RSSE watersports expansion.
Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Hospitality, Tourism, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 8-10 years' experience in watersports instruction, management, or resort operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, SUP, kayaking, and foiling operations.
  • Leadership experience managing teams of instructors and operational staff.
  • Proven experience in guest experience management, service recovery, and high end client engagement.
  • RYA Senior Instructor certifications or equivalent; RYA Powerboat Level 2 or higher required.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development abilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Guest-focused with exceptional customer service orientation.
  • Ability to operate effectively in multicultural, high-pressure environments.
  • Strategic thinking with strong planning and organizational capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.
  • Flexible to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays as required.
