Swimming Instructor

Responsible for the successful instruction of learn-to-swim programming, customer service, emergency response, proper documentation, facility/area upkeep, and assistance as requested by the Deck Instructor, Aquatic Supervisor, or Professional Staff.

• Instruct group and private swimming lessons.
• Evaluate participant swimming ability and determine correct swim level.
• Create an educational, safe, and inviting experience for participants.
• Be available as needed to discuss the participant’s course evaluation with the parents/guardians and/or participants.
• Punctually meet all scheduled class times, fully prepared to teach.
• Attend all staff and evaluation meetings as requested.
• Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures.
• Complete all necessary planning and paperwork inherent to the class.
• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
• Complete all Incident and Accident reports as necessary.
• Offer outstanding customer service.

• Previous swim instruction teaching experience or willingness to participate in training.
• Current American Red Cross CPR, AED, First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to complete all paperwork, lesson plans, etc., necessary for successful course completion.
• Ability to appropriately manage class participants and communicate effectively with parents/guardians.
• Knowledge to respond swiftly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Ability to perform all American Red Cross skills as trained.
