ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – TACOMA YARD

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. The Administrative Assistant reports to the Assistant Operations Manager and supports the entire Tacoma Yard through timely data entry, communication, and coordination with various departments. The role ensures that internal and external customers receive quality support and services.

  • Works closely with site leadership, vessel repair and maintenance, warehouse, and dock operations.
  • Performs data entry and maintains records using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
  • Manages employee and temporary employee timecards, ensuring accurate information capture and reporting.
  • Operates the site telephone procurement process and coordinates with the Trident Support Center on resource acquisition and turn‑in.
  • Maintains and updates various administrative programs as prescribed by the supervisor.
  • Uses excellent organizational and records‑management techniques.
  • Employs professional communication and phone skills; answers inquiries and provides callers with addresses, directions, and other information.
  • Safeguards employees’ personal information.
  • Transfers calls to voicemail or takes messages when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
  • Monitors visitor access, issues passes, and provides personal protective equipment to visitors.
  • Performs other clerical duties as required.
  • Carries out instructions given by the immediate supervisor.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Reports all personnel‑related issues to the immediate supervisor.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s environmental and safety policies through required training and completes designated work activities in accordance with procedures.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, per training requirements.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
  • Works regular scheduled hours (Monday‑Friday) with overtime expected; seasonal requirements may include ten‑hour workdays and mandatory hours on Saturdays and holidays.

Salary
: $21.00 – $24.00 per hour (non‑exempt position).

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience applying Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  • Clear, effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs.
  • Flexible, innovative, and comfortable setting own priorities and driving results in a production environment.
  • Capable of working independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance.

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one‑year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
