The ABCD Program helps children ages birth to 5 who have Apple Health (Medicaid) access dental services in Pierce County. It assists families in finding a dentist trained to work with small children in a private office or clinic that accepts Apple Health (Medicaid). Children enrolled in the program receive dental check-ups twice a year, fluoride treatments three times a year, and family education twice a year.
Most dental services are provided as needed.
Children must be under five years of age and have Apple Health (Medicaid).

The Chief Health Strategist provides leadership for prevention regarding public health issues and Health Equity in Pierce County. The department offers public health services for individuals, communities, and businesses, including:
- Water, restaurant, waste disposal, and septic system inspection
- Monitoring and responding to outbreaks of communicable diseases, including TB, Hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, and others
- Substance abuse counseling
- Health counseling for prenatal clients and parents of children in the home
- Health education and general health information and referral
