DescriptionOperates under the philosophy of "Each one, teach one"Provides individual tutors to help adults learn and improve basic reading and writing skills, and provides one-on-one tutoring in English as a Second Language.
Learners meet with the tutor in a mutually agreeable public place, such as a library.
Learner and tutor decide together the days times to meet.
Also offers group classes. Small classes are also offered at several locations around Pierce County. The TALC website has additional information about the locations and times for those classes.
The Tacoma Area Literacy Council provides free and confidential one-on-one instruction to adults in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending English and promotes public awareness of adult literacy needs throughout Pierce County.
