Bridge Inspection Engineer, Bridges and Structures - Tacoma, WA

Location:
Tacoma, WA (multiple alternative locations available:
Portland, OR;
Salem, OR; Bellevue, WA; Olympia, WA; Seattle, WA; Spokane, WA; Denver, CO; Boise, ; Salt Lake City, UT).
- Organize information for project documents.
- Lead bridge projects by creating inspection reports, load rating summaries, concept reports, and location reports.
- Perform condition inspections of existing bridges and tunnels.
- Generate and edit bridge inspection reports.
- Develop engineering calculations using spreadsheets and design software packages.
- Create engineering drawing details.
- Develop engineering quantity and cost estimates.
- Develop project specifications.
- Review contractor submittals during construction.
- Lead bridge rehabilitation and maintenance projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of bridge inspection, load rating, or design experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- Completed NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service bridges or equivalent.
- Proficiency in current bridge inspection and management software.
- Experience with bridge load rating or analysis software platforms.
- Knowledge of bridge design software (SAP
2000, Midas Civil, LARSA 4D, PG Super, Conspan, LPile). - Experience with MathCAD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Knowledge of drafting software (Micro Station, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Physically able to work outside in varied weather conditions.
- Ability to communicate and work in a team environment.
- Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Knowledge of state DOT bridge inspection and load rating standards and guidelines.
- Completed NHI 130078 Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges.
- Active certification as a Rope Access Technician through SPRAT.
