Bridge Inspection Engineer, Bridges and Structures - Tacoma, WA

Salem, OR; Bellevue, WA; Olympia, WA; Seattle, WA; Spokane, WA; Denver, CO; Boise, ; Salt Lake City, UT).

What You’ll Do
  • Organize information for project documents.
  • Lead bridge projects by creating inspection reports, load rating summaries, concept reports, and location reports.
  • Perform condition inspections of existing bridges and tunnels.
  • Generate and edit bridge inspection reports.
  • Develop engineering calculations using spreadsheets and design software packages.
  • Create engineering drawing details.
  • Develop engineering quantity and cost estimates.
  • Develop project specifications.
  • Review contractor submittals during construction.
  • Lead bridge rehabilitation and maintenance projects.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of bridge inspection, load rating, or design experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Completed NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service bridges or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in current bridge inspection and management software.
  • Experience with bridge load rating or analysis software platforms.
  • Knowledge of bridge design software (SAP
    2000, Midas Civil, LARSA 4D, PG Super, Conspan, LPile).
  • Experience with MathCAD.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
  • Knowledge of drafting software (Micro Station, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Physically able to work outside in varied weather conditions.
  • Ability to communicate and work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Knowledge of state DOT bridge inspection and load rating standards and guidelines.
  • Completed NHI 130078 Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges.
  • Active certification as a Rope Access Technician through SPRAT.
