About the RoleThe Special Projects Group is seeking an ambitious Structural Engineer for our Tacoma, WA office. You will work on waterfront and industrial infrastructure projects, leveraging your expertise in design, project management, and client service.
Responsibilities- Structural Design and Development: Apply engineering expertise to projects involving pile design, bulkhead walls, prestressed concrete, and seismic design for marine terminals, shipyards, marinas, and floating structures.
- Project Leadership: Manage project tasks, coordinate timelines, budgets, and resources, conduct site visits and inspections, and mentor team members.
- Client Engagement: Foster strong client relationships, provide clear communication, deliver customized solutions, and serve as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
- Minimum 15 years of structural design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
- Preferred MS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
- Professional Engineer (SE) license required.
- Experience in concrete, steel, timber, pile, bulkhead wall, prestressed concrete, and seismic design.
- Knowledge of ASCE 61‑14, AASHTO, IBC, ASCE‑7, AISC, ACI, NDS.
- Proficiency in SAP
2000, L‑Pile, MS Excel, VBA (preferred). - Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Dynamic, collaborative work style and enthusiasm for design and project management.

- Occasional lifting objects up to 15 lbs.
- Occasional on‑site visits requiring walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain.

Competitive base salary based on experience, education, and skills. Expected range for a qualified candidate with 15+ years of experience is $150,000–$230,000. Performance‑based bonuses recognize outstanding contributions.
