Dayworks Estimator – Tacoma

Our Dayworks team solves problems. When emergencies arise, this group of seasoned technicians, project managers and coordinators spring into action. As a Dayworks Estimator, you’ll leverage your Fire Sprinkler industry knowledge to price repair deficiencies and piece together the puzzle of the varying needs of sprinkler systems, parts, and repairs. You’ll be the backbone of ensuring smooth and efficient operations, interacting with a variety of teams and leaders.

• Communication: Relay estimate details and project scope to customers and internal stakeholders, making and communicating needed changes both in writing and verbally.
• Detail Guru: Prepare detailed cost estimates for emergency repairs and system upgrades, including labor, materials, equipment, and project timelines.
• Triage: Prioritize urgent repair requests and provide quick-turnaround estimates for time-sensitive emergency situations.
• Purchasing: Source and price specialty sprinkler system components and parts, maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure availability and competitive pricing.
• Problem Solve: Assess fire sprinkler system deficiencies to determine scope of repair work needed, working closely with technicians and project managers to gather accurate field information.
• Data Management: Maintain accurate records of estimates, material costs, and labor rates in company systems to support project tracking and future bidding.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with operations teams to ensure estimated costs align with actual project execution, refining estimating practices based on field feedback.
• Professional Growth: Embrace opportunities to learn, grow, and take on additional responsibilities.

• Experience: 4+ years of estimation, pricing, and/or purchasing experience
• Industry: 2+ years in the Fire Sprinkler industry
• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (particularly Excel), Google Suite (particularly GSheets), and estimating software
• Attention to Detail: Strong follow-up skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Process-driven: Affinity for developing, maintaining and repeating standardized and multi-step processes.
• Team-Minded: Bring an infectious positive energy that ignites team spirit and collaboration
• Compliance: Drug screening and background checks will only be conducted after a conditional job offer is made. We evaluate criminal history based on its relevance to the job duties.

$40,000 – $75,000 per year
