TRA Medical Imaging is hiring for multiple Ultrasound Technologists to join our team. Interested in a new full‑time role, or just looking to add shifts that work around your existing schedule? With locations across the South Puget Sound and flexible schedules from 0.5 up to 1.0 FTE, TRA could be the right fit for you.

Base Pay Range

$41.52/hr – $70.60/hr (based on experience and skills)

Sign‑on bonus: $3,000.00 for full‑time (FTE) positions.

Shifts Diagnostic Imaging Northwest:
Sunrise
  • Monday + Friday: 10‑hour shifts
  • Friday – Monday:
    Variable 32–40 hours depending on shift length
Diagnostic Imaging Northwest:
Puyallup
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday:
    Variable 32–40 hours depending on shift length
Weekend Shifts – Puyallup + Sunrise
  • Saturday + Sunday:
    Variable 16–24 hours depending on shift length

Job Summary

Performs diagnostic ultrasound exams in accordance with ARDMS standards and ethics. The Ultrasonographer complies with company policies and procedures, including regulatory changes and safety standards, while prioritizing patient and physician needs.

Essential Job Functions
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound exam with thorough explanation of procedures and clear instructions.
  • Obtain a thorough patient history relevant to the exam.
  • Review patient chart and physician’s request to determine optimal scanning parameters and verify consent.
  • Accurately implement the orders of the referring physician.
  • Perform examinations of Abdomen, Pelvis, OB, Small Parts & Vascular structures with accuracy.
  • Present ultrasound examinations to the radiologist in a professional and precise manner.
  • Assist patient on scanning table, position patient and equipment, and utilize appropriate ultrasound devices, transducers, frequencies.
  • Perform examinations in a timely manner.
  • Follow and document scan protocol as prescribed by radiologist without error.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
  • Prepare informed consent and assist radiologist with interventional procedures.
  • Practice aseptic techniques as necessary.
  • Assist radiologist in reviewing completed study.
  • Complete all documentation, paperwork, imaging and archiving to maintain patient file without omissions.
  • Document any negative effects the patient may have experienced.
  • Complete Modality Worksheet with accurate information for the radiologist.
  • Maintain high standards regarding accurate recording of patient information.
  • Present high quality ultrasound images and pertinent patient history to radiologist.
  • Utilize written and oral communications with patients, physicians, co‑workers and supervisors.
  • Utilize exemplary customer service skills.
  • Perform necessary computer functions associated with patient exam, including PACS.
  • Keep work area and patient exam areas neat and stocked with supplies.
  • Participate in orientation and in‑service training for personnel.
  • Maintain professional demeanor with confidentiality.
  • Be prompt and efficient with minimal absences.
  • Cooperate and maintain good rapport with co‑workers to ensure proper patient care and efficient workflow.
  • Be able to travel to other sites.
  • Check work e‑mail daily.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all center and patient information per HIPAA guidelines.
  • Follow the center exposure controls plan for blood‑borne and airborne pathogens.
