Advanced Practice Provider; O-Billet Supervisory

Overview

The Supervisory Advanced Practice Provider oversees Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners at the DHS IHSC facility, training and scheduling. Provides direct detainee care, performs evaluations, and prescribes medications. Requires licensure, certification, and 6+ years clinical experience. The Supervisory APP reports directly to the facility Clinical Director. This position is only open to USPHS officers and Call to Active Duty (CAD) candidates.

• Oversee PAs and NPs at the DHS IHSC facility, including training and scheduling.
• Provide direct detainee care, perform evaluations, and prescribe medications as required.

• Licensure and certification to practice as an Advanced Practice Provider (as applicable).
• 6+ years of clinical experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.

• Background investigation: must be successfully completed.
• Drug screen: must be successfully passed.
• Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 must certify Selective Service registration.
• Meet all requirements by the closing date of the announcement unless otherwise noted.
• Service Remaining Requirement Agreement: officers will be required to serve an 18 to 24-month commitment to IHSC upon appointment.
• Assignment Pay Agreement: you must not have a current Assignment Pay Agreement; if you have one, it must be fulfilled within 90 days of your application submission.
• Applicants must be a current USPHS Commissioned Corps Officer or USPHS Call to Active Duty (CAD) candidate. Civilians are not eligible.
• PHS officers must participate in IHSC TDY On-Call Schedule (ITOS): ITOS may involve an entire month or two 16-day periods per year, during which officers must be available to serve.
