Medical Insurance Authorization Specialist
Olympic Sports & Spine (OSS) is looking for a full-time, experienced medical insurance benefits Authorization Specialist to join our growing, fast‑paced medical billing office.

The schedule is Monday through Friday (no weekends) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:Process all activities related to authorizations for assigned locations. The role supports front office staff, therapists, and billing staff.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:- Review referrals for accuracy and completeness before processing to ensure carriers can expedite prior authorization.
- Consult with therapists and office staff to obtain medical documentation to ensure the plan of care is consistent with the diagnosis and referrals on file.
- Closely monitor the authorization status and make frequent follow‑up calls to insurance.
- Create authorization records and ensure information is appropriately documented and communicated.
- Ensure authorizations are complete for the next day’s patients, or, if unable to obtain them, properly communicate to the office staff/therapist.
- Manage correspondence and provide detailed notes in the EMR system of all communication with insurance companies, patients, clinic staff, and billing staff.
- Execute prior authorization workflow, policies, and procedures.
- Secure patients' demographics and medical information by using great discretion and ensuring all procedures are in sync with HIPAA compliance and regulations.
- Performs other duties as needed.
- Participates in educational activities and attends monthly staff meetings.
