Job Summary and Responsibilities

Franciscan Medical Group, as part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is currently seeking a PER DIEM Echo Technologist for our Franciscan Cardiovascular Clinic in Tacoma, WA. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our patient centered team. Come join our exciting and fast paced clinic with various testing modalities and an opportunity to truly work at the top of the echo tech scope of practice.

No weekends or organization recognized holidays required!

Responsibilities
  • Perform sonographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
  • Perform a variety of technical procedures that relate to cardiac ultrasounds requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative for sonographic diagnosis.
  • Conduct technical procedures with sound understanding of anatomical positioning, physiology, and cross sectional anatomy to produce optimal results.
  • Maintain expert knowledge in sonography examinations at a technical level and general knowledge with the sonography equipment.
  • Schedule, report, and file all sonography examinations.
  • Prepare patients for sonography procedures.
  • Process and label all exams.
  • Attend class seminars on new developments in technical improvements in sonography.
  • Present in-services to other departmental employees on procedures, as directed.
Job Requirements

Education/Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduation from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program.
  • One year of post‑graduate experience in cardiac ultrasound and/or demonstrated high degree of proficiency, knowledge, and acuity in the field of diagnostics or ultrasound is preferred.
Licensure / Certifications
  • Current registration by ARDMS, or current certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
  • Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.

Pay Range: $47.86 - $74.26 /hour
