We have an immediate full‑time opportunity for a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist at our Tacoma, WA Patient Care Facility. The role involves evaluating, fabricating, and fitting artificial limbs and orthopedic braces, designing and making prostheses and orthoses, and supervising a dynamic team.

• Examine, interview, and measure patients to determine appliance needs and factors affecting fit.
• Fit, test, and evaluate devices on patients, making adjustments for proper fit, function, and comfort.
• Instruct patients in the use and care of orthoses and prostheses.
• Design orthopedic and prosthetic devices based on physicians’ prescriptions and patient measurements.
• Maintain patient records in accordance with ABC and CMS standards.
• Make and modify plaster casts for prosthesis or orthosis construction.
• Select materials and components based on device design.
• Consult with physicians to formulate specifications and prescriptions.
• Repair, rebuild, and modify prosthetic and orthopedic appliances.
• Construct and fabricate appliances or supervise others who are constructing them.
• Train and supervise orthopedic and prosthetic assistants and technicians, including COF.
• Update skills and knowledge by attending conferences and seminars.
• Show and explain appliances to healthcare workers.
• Maintaining inventory of materials in main and satellite locations.

• Currently licensed and/or certified and in good standing with ABC or BOC.
• Maintain annual CME’s in accordance with ABC and BOC guidelines.
• Practice within scope of work unless delegated by a supervisor or practitioner of another specialty.
• Adhere to guidelines set forth in the employee handbook upon hire.
• Attend and demonstrate competency in HIPAA compliance, sexual harassment training, and universal precautions training.
• Hold any additional state licensing required to perform duties in that state/region.
• Maintain compliance with ABC facility accreditation and lead its implementation.
• Lead or participate in annual performance reviews with facility support staff.
• Attend Pacific Medical hosted training and meetings.

$80,000 – $120,000
