Banquet Server – Hotel Murano

Tacoma, WA – $16.66 per hour

Job Summary

Hotel Murano is a 319‑room boutique hotel located in downtown Tacoma, offering guests a blend of luxury and a vibrant city experience. As a Banquet Server, you will help set up and manage banquet events, ensuring guests receive excellent service and the venue operates smoothly.

Responsibilities
  • Set up banquet functions, including draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks, and placing table centerpieces.
  • Serve and buss tables, pick up food from the back hall, carry trays, and clear dishes from tables.
  • Break down banquet rooms after events, bussing tables, storing linens, vacuuming, and disposing of dirty centerpieces.
  • Clean and sanitize back‑hall areas and organize storerooms.
  • Set up AM/PM break stations with coffee, tea, snacks, and beverages.
  • Assist with event room setup according to meal periods and table needs.
  • Prepare food & beverage stations, including condiments, brewing coffee, and maintaining workstations.
  • Explain menu items, cooking methods, and ingredients to guests.
  • Handle guest dietary requests and special requests.
  • Provide general property information and greet guests warmly.
  • Assist other departments with necessary information.
  • Perform final quality checks on food and beverage items before serving guests.
  • Monitor assigned tables for guest satisfaction and quality.
  • Address guest issues promptly and with high concern.
  • Assist event and restaurant staff as needed.
  • Maintain constant awareness of safety issues such as broken glass, frayed cords, leaks, and suspicious persons.
Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of food service experience, preferably banquet service.
  • Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
