Permanent Lead Tool Maker

Base salary: $65,000 – $104,000 per year.

Job Details

We are looking for an experienced Tool Maker who is passionate about precision, eager to solve complex problems, and ready to lead a dynamic team.

Responsibilities
  • Leading and overseeing the day‑to‑day operation of the tool‑making department.
  • Designing and creating custom tools using Solid Works and Mastercam.
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to understand project specifications and requirements.
  • Conducting quality control checks to ensure tools meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Training and mentoring junior tool makers, sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Continuously researching and implementing new tool‑making techniques to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to tool design and production.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Performing preventative maintenance on tooling equipment and machinery.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tool Maker in the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in Solid Works and Mastercam or equivalent software.
  • Extensive knowledge of tool‑making techniques, machinery, and equipment.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to train and mentor others.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • A degree in a relevant field is preferred but not required.
