Job Description Production Manager Pay Range: $115,000 - $140,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications

Work Schedule:

This position supports day and swing shift, and a flexible work schedule is required. While a majority of the work hours will be on day shift starting between 4:00 – 8:00am, the swing shift starts at 3:30pm and flexibility to spend more hours on swing shift as needed to meet the needs of the business and our customers is required.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide strategic leadership for plant manufacturing operations, driving operational performance, workforce development, continuous improvement, and long-term manufacturing excellence initiatives. The Manufacturing Production Manager is responsible for aligning production operations with business objectives to improve safety, quality, delivery performance, productivity, and profitability across the facility. This role requires a highly experienced manufacturing leader with strong business acumen, advanced operational expertise, and a proven ability to lead large-scale production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Lead and manage all production operations to achieve company objectives related to safety, quality, cost, delivery, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Develop and execute strategic manufacturing plans that support operational growth, capacity planning, workforce optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and other continuous improvement methodologies. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to improve overall plant performance.

Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute long-range operational strategies, capital improvement projects, and process optimization initiatives. Champion a culture of safety and regulatory compliance by ensuring adherence to OSHA requirements, company policies, and environmental standards. Lead cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Human Resources, and Customer Service to optimize plant performance and achieve business goals. Drive labor efficiency, material utilization, inventory control, and waste reduction initiatives to improve profitability and operational sustainability.

Analyze production data, financial metrics, and operational reports to support strategic decision-making and resource planning. Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors, team leads, and production personnel to build a high-performing, accountable, and engaged workforce. Develop succession planning and talent development strategies to strengthen organizational capability and leadership pipelines. Oversee production scheduling and resource allocation to ensure on-time delivery and responsiveness to customer demand fluctuations.

Identify and implement technology, automation, and process improvements that enhance manufacturing capabilities and operational scalability. Manage departmental budgets, labor planning, and operational expenditures to meet financial objectives. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives related to quality, safety, downtime, and operational inefficiencies. Maintain effective communication across all levels of the organization regarding operational priorities, performance expectations, and business initiatives.

Ensure accurate reporting and maintenance of production metrics, labor reporting, downtime analysis, inventory usage, and operational documentation. Perform additional strategic and operational leadership responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field required; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 10+ years of progressive manufacturing experience in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment. Minimum of 5–7 years of leadership experience managing multi-line manufacturing operations, production departments, or plant operations. Proven success leading strategic operational improvements that resulted in measurable gains in productivity, quality, safety, and cost reduction.
