External DescriptionThe YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Health and Wellbeing Program Coordinator to join our team! The YMCA focuses on empowering people in all forms, by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods.
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
The Health and Well-Being Program Coordinator provides administrative support to the Health and Well-being Department under the direct supervision of the Health and Well-Being Program Director. Areas of responsibility include program development, leading small groups, and maintaining program quality.
Key Responsibilities- Administrative support to the Program Director and the Health and Well-being department
- Assist Program Directors in recruiting, hiring, training and supervising staff and volunteers
- Monitor monthly budget, make adjustments and recommendations accordingly
- Lead members through programs while demonstrating safety guidelines
- One to two years related experience in teaching group exercise classes preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or two years related knowledge and experience preferred.
- Y-USA Foundations of Strength and Conditioning and/or Y-USA Foundations of Group Exercise certifications or equivalencies such as ACE, ASCM, AFAA, NETA.
- Knowledge of basic health and fitness principles and components, exercise prescription and strength training machines.
- Be able to set an excellent example in health, fitness and member service.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications.
- Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
- You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
Wage: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on qualifications
Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week
