The Public/Community Health Nurse (PHN) is responsible forthe mental and physical well-being of the community by ensuring the public’shealth through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, and education. The Public/Community Health Nurse (PHN) can work in a variety of institutions such as the community,hospitals, clinics, or long-term care facilities while collaborating with stateregulators, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to keep the communitysafe and healthy.
Minimum Requirements:
- Active Nursing Licensure in the state practicing
- Two (2) years of public health or community experience preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
