COOK; PART TIME

FISD is hiring a part‑time Cook to work at the Annie Wright Schools (827 North Tacoma Avenue, Tacoma, WA 98403). Applications are submitted online only.

Schedule: Saturdays‑Sundays 10 am–8 pm.

Compensation: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour.

Free meals, uniforms, and laundering service are available at select locations.

Prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations. Ensures quality food service at all times. Serves meals or prepares them for delivery with correct portioning, temperature, and appearance. Performs routine cleaning, maintains equipment, and follows HACCP standards.

• Prepares high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes and schedules.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery with correct portioning and attractive appearance.
• Uses established ticket collection procedures during service.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organizes inventory.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assists in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required.
• Assists in ordering and receiving all food and supplies.
• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Attends in‑service and safety meetings.
• Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
• Performs work safely while maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Ensures proper presentation, portion control, and temperature maintenance; follows HACCP standards.
• Personal commitment to safety for self and others.
• Abides by all Company policies and procedures, including:
  • The use of a medium weight cut glove when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins, or cleaning a slicer.
  • The use of oven mitts, fryer gloves, or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens or warmers.
  • The use of slip‑resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
