• Provide excellent customer service to CNRG customers by listening to customers, identifying needs, and offering accurate product recommendations.
• Greet customers and engage with open-ended questions such as “How may I assist you today?” or “What can I help you find today?”
• Direct customers to appropriate products, supply product knowledge and technical assistance related to selection, use, and installation of hardware products.
• Handle sales counter functions including order entry, special orders, and price lookups; process sales orders and special orders accurately in the POS system.
• Respond to telephone inquiries politely and provide requested information.
• Merchandise products on shelves according to planograms; stock shelves with incoming product; sign and merchandise products as needed; maintain a clean and organized sales counter and selling area.
• Make new product recommendations to store management based on customer feedback; notify regular customers about new products and promotions.
• Assist with customer loading of purchased items as necessary and support inventory tasks such as cycle counting.
• Use the Resource Center to report items with pricing or description issues.
• Assist with price accuracy and take corrective action as needed to ensure proper scanning and descriptions.

• Possess working knowledge of company and store security measures; remain vigilant for suspicious activity and report it to management.
• Follow company safety guidelines and participate in regular store safety meetings.

Perform other duties similar to the above as assigned by the store manager or corporate representatives.

Required:

• Previous experience in retail sales or general customer service; strong math, reading, writing, and speaking skills; friendly demeanor.
• Problem-solving ability, good organizational skills, and ability to communicate via telephone and email.
• Basic knowledge of lumber, building materials, or general hardware merchandise; departmental expertise preferred.
• Ability to lift and load merchandise up to 50 lbs, lift items over six feet, climb a ladder, and move safely in the store.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Pay range: $16.66 to $23.75 per hour.
