Mechanic; Engine & Shop Assistant

Overview

SS Landscaping is looking to add a team member to our shop team. This person will be accountable for repairing small equipment, evaluating the shop and yard needs and organization of the shop and yard. The ideal candidate will have previous automotive experience working with a variety of engines, be a reliable employee, exhibit teamwork, and add value to our organization.

• Small equipment diagnostic, service and repair (mowers, blowers, line trimmers, etc.).
• Parts inventory and procurement.
• Shop and yard organization.
• Field crew preparation (quick repairs, tagging equipment, sharpening mower blades, restocking consumables, mixing fuel, filling cans, emptying trash, etc.).
• Documentation and maintenance of service logs.

• Controlling intake of small equipment, organizing and prioritizing repair.
• Routine inspections on all small equipment.
• Routine maintenance based on manufacturers  recommendations, i.e. oil changes, air filters, belts, plugs, etc.
• Evaluation of existing equipment components to determine necessary replacements, proper use and care (washing, blade sharpening, abuse, etc.) and/or potential forthcoming issues (tires, belts, blades, etc.).
• Update maintenance logs for work completed.

• Various equipment models and controls (Stihl, Echo, Husqvarna, etc.).
• Ancillary components (carburetors, clutches, drive systems, etc.).
• WADL
