Career TEAM is looking for a high‑energy, service‑driven individual to be a Career Advisor and serve our Young Adult population (16‑24) in Pierce County by helping them to employment and training opportunities. The role will have a primary focus on providing career counseling, intensive case management, and follow‑up services to out‑of‑school youth who are not engaged in post‑secondary education or have not obtained a GED or High School Diploma.
The ideal candidate will work well autonomously, maintain and strengthen partnerships with existing partners. Work will be performed under the WIOA (Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act) Program under the Pierce County Work Source Umbrella, under the supervision of the Young Adult Program Manager. This position allows some telecommuting but the selected candidate will be required to perform most work onsite at the listed location.

Your Impact on Career TEAM’s Success- Provide intensive case management services to registered customers within the One‑Stop system
- Conduct outreach with community partners that engage the Young Adult population
- ೀನappa set up referral pipelines and build strong community partnerships
- Actively engage and recruit Young Adults for project opportunities such as Work Experiences, career workshops, mentorship planning, etc.
- Provide career coaching to Young Adults remotely and in person through our Career Edge learning management systems, focusing on soft skills and professional development
- Complete intake and eligibility determination for the workforce program. Assess jobseekers’ employment and training needs through interviewing, testing and other methods
- Enter data into and otherwise use and process clients through any participant information system as required
- Guide Young Adults through the preparation of individual employment plans (IEP) based on their specific occupational goals
- Counsel clients on available job opportunities, training programs and other services
- Complete Individual Training Account (ITA) vouchers and other documents required for clients entering training
- Refer individuals to appropriate services, training programs or job opportunities and follow‑up on those activities
- Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs and other group presentations for clients
- Follow all policies, procedures and regulations related to eligibility documentation and ensure that case files contain originals and/or copies of eligibility documents
- Maintain accurate individual case files for each registered customer assuring they contain all required eligibility documents and meet compliance requirements
- Develop a comprehensive Individual Employment Plan (IEP) for all customers and provide referral and tracking of eligible customers into contracted programs provided on‑site at the Leip-Stop centers and/or located in the community in accordance with established contracts
- Meet and/or exceed program benchmarks and participate in all staff‑related events as required, including training, staff meetings and individual supervision
- Complete all required reports
- Approach each day and task with a ZAG mindset
- Perform other duties and projects as needed for the success of the program
- Two years of work experience combining elements of training, counseling, case management or other services
