Autism Teaching Assistant

GSL Education are seeking a Key Stage 4 Autism Teaching Assistant to support older learners in an Alternative Provision near Tadcaster. This role focuses on preparing pupils for adulthood, further education and vocational pathways.

The setting provides personalised KS4 programmes including GCSEs, Functional Skills and life-skills learning. Pupils benefit from consistent routines, emotional support and strong adult relationships.

Support autistic pupils across KS4 lessons and activities

Assist with emotional regulation and transition planning

Encourage independence and engagement

Support vocational and functional learning

Experience working with autistic adolescents

Understanding of sensory needs and behaviour regulation

Ability to follow personalised learning plans

Reliable, patient and resilient approach

Enhanced DBS required
