Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Bookkeeper to join our high-performing General Practice for 2 days per week. This key role ensures accurate financial management, maintains robust financial controls and supports clear, timely reporting to the Practice Manager and GP Partners.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records using Quick Books
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Process invoices and payments
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for the Practice Manager and Partners
  • Support budgeting and cashflow monitoring
  • Assist with payroll administration (PAYE and pensions)
  • Liaise with external accountants and support year-end accounts
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls and confidentiality requirements

Qualifications
  • Recognised bookkeeping or accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ICB or equivalent)
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Proven bookkeeping experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Quick Books
  • Excellent Excel skills (including use of formulas and financial reporting functions)
  • Experience with bank reconciliations and financial reporting
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Desirable
  • Experience in General Practice or Primary Care
  • Understanding of NHS funding streams and GP practice finance
  • Payroll experience

  • Clear and professional communication skills
Working pattern & Contract

Part‑time, permanent. 2 days per week. Salary depends on experience. Working location: 1 Troy Close, Tadworth, Surrey, KT20 5JE.
