Position: Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist Band 7

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist (Band
7) to join our Rehabilitation services team. You will provide a high quality, evidence-based occupational therapy service that promotes participation and functional activity for children and young people accessing The Childrens Trust occupational therapy services. All interventions will be goal focused, evidence-based and child and family centred. The role is to provide high quality, evidence-based occupational therapy assessment and interventions to children and young people with ABI, neurodisability and neurological conditions in neurorehabilitation and transitional care from across the UK and international placements.

You will provide clinical leadership to the allocated house-based Therapy Team, ensuring accountability and effective communication with other teams to create a cohesive multidisciplinary Therapy Team.

The Childrens Trust is the UKs leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy, and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Brain Injury Community Service.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality, evidence-based occupational therapy assessment and interventions for children and young people with ABI, neurodisability and neurological conditions.
  • Deliver goal-focused, child and family centred interventions to promote participation and functional activity.
  • Provide clinical leadership to the allocated house-based Therapy Team, ensuring accountability and effective communication with other teams to maintain a cohesive multidisciplinary Therapy Team.
