WhatYou Will Achieve
Ensure the delivery of project management deliverables as defined by the PMBOK, implement Scrum and other agile practices appropriate for the size, scale, complexity and regulatory compliance of the assigned program(s) or project(s). Includes resource management and planning for employees and consultants to achieve milestones and business outcomes. Perform clear stakeholder management communications with vision, direction and expectations; supervise project team members and supplier commitments.
Manage project and program resources including finances, contracts, people, software licenses and assets, and ensure value realization of business objectives with an understanding of business processes and activities.
- Prepare and own program proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding, procedures, staffing requirements and colleague resource planning.
- Develop project plans specifying goals, staffing, scheduling, risks, contingency plans and resource allocation.
- Act as a servant leader, facilitating effective team meetings and agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Oversee vendor resources assigned to project work, including negotiating SOW terms, managing cost forecasts and reconciliation, and invoice tracking.
- Collaborate with Business Partners to ensure clear business and functional analysis activities and well-documented requirements for projects.
- Work with product owners and stakeholders to define and prioritize product backlogs aligned with business goals.
- Leverage governance and portfolio tools that support project, resource and financial management in line with technology standards.
- Coordinate with Core Technologies Lead and Global Product Engineering to ensure project solutions meet technology standards.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through effective project estimation, vendor selection, negotiation and delivery efficiency.
- Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Remove impediments and roadblocks to help teams meet sprint commitments.
- Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation; prepare status reports and keep stakeholders informed of progress and issues.
- Provide technical guidance and resolve problems; coordinate requests for changes from original specifications.
- Develop quality assurance test plans and ensure QA testing is performed.
- Collaborate with Core Technologists and Service Managers to meet solution lifecycle objectives.
- Mentor and guide team members on agile principles and best practices; foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to drive consistent agile practices and continuous learning; provide performance metrics to inform decisions.
- Participate in the development and improvement of agile methodologies within the organization and provide leadership to project team members through the project lifecycle.
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of experience
- Experience using knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and business environment to define strategic actions for a global business unit
- Experience managing large complex global programs with capital and operating expenses and virtual teams
- Strong people management experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence outcomes and present to diverse audiences
