An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Lead to join our Nursing and Care Team in one of the clinical houses. This role will require the successful candidate to provide high quality front-line clinical leadership, education, and expertise within a House leadership team (House Unit Manager, Deputy House Manager / Deputy Clinical Lead and Clinical Lead per house) responsible for one of our clinical houses.

Main duties of the job

Being a member of the senior site management team, ensuring that there is senior clinical support and leadership on site at all times. It also includes the practice educator role and that of the clinical nurse specialist in a designated specialty of clinical care. This will include activities such as planning and delivering house-based training programmes, ensuring best practice and evidence-based care, chairing key meetings and working clinically across all areas of the organisation.

With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

The Children's Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy, and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Brain Injury Community Service.

Job responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

  • Work collaboratively as a member of a House leadership team comprising of a House Manager, Deputy House Manager / Deputy Clinical Lead and Clinical Lead per house participating in the senior site manager rota.
  • Serve as the visible source of clinical leadership and support for your assigned House.
  • Develop and deliver bespoke individualised education packages on House for all staff within your allocated House.
  • Identify training needs specific to the children and young people residing in your allocated House and address through packages of on‑site training.
  • Work collaboratively with other clinical leads to ensure consistency of offer and sharing of best practice.
  • Ensure any potential or actual safeguarding concerns are promptly managed and reported as required.
  • Identify and troubleshoot staffing issues. During working hours this is alongside the House Manager and Deputy House Manager/Deputy Clinical Lead.
  • Lead the clinical and non‑clinical emergency response team (bleep holder) when allocated to do so.
  • Respond to any clinical complaints raised on allocated House and resolve informally wherever possible.
  • Respond to any incidents identified or reported on allocated House, ensuring safety is maintained and IRAR completed.
