This position is responsible for facilitating and delivering an informed sexual risk reduction intervention program using approved evidence based, medically reviewed curriculum. The S/C Facilitator will work with the school administration and faculty ensuring that all school policies and procedures are enforced while delivering selected curriculum at the school. The S/C Facilitator will work with the host teacher supporter ensuring all surveys and performance measures are completed, collected, and sent to the PD and Evaluator electronically.
The S/C Facilitator will work with the program coordinator to develop a schedule for each school where he/she will facilitate and train the youth on the selected curriculum. The S/C facilitator will keep daily attendance and complete fidelity reports at the end of each session, which will be submitted to the evaluator for data input.
The S/C Facilitator will be responsible for classroom management and presentation of the program within the schools selected. Additionally, the S/C Facilitator will meet regularly with school and community leaders to promote the program, educate the community about the importance of informed youth and making good life choices.
The S/C Facilitator will be responsible for promoting successful, healthy lifestyles during the program.
Essential Functions:- Maintaining an optimal working relationship with the Indian Education/Schools for needs assessment access and implementation of a successful intervention program in designated schools within their county.
- Work closely with the school host teacher ensuring all surveys are completed and turned in electronically.
- Facilitating an informed sexual risk reduction intervention program in a culturally relevant way to students.
- Assist in developing the cultural curriculum by working with the Cultural Advisors and PD.
- Maintaining timely and appropriate communication with the PD and other staff regarding day-to-day activities and events.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and curriculum for each school as assigned, coordinate re-stocking with the program coordinator and PD.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and emotional intelligence across a wide range of ages.
- Intermediate knowledge of Cherokee culture and traditional activities.
- A pleasant public speaking voice and the ability to project their voice.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Facilitating curriculum to High School age youth
- Eligible candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, teaching certificate or 3-4 years facilitating youth curriculum with a proven history of success.
- Experience with high school age youth
- Computer skills and the ability to write letters, emails, text for communicating with all involved with the program.
