Responsibilities

The Graduate Program Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship’s graduate programs. Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies, this position is responsible for:

Academic Operations

  • Scheduling graduate-level courses and coordinating with faculty and staff to avoid conflicts.
  • Building graduate courses in FSU systems and ensuring compliance with first-day attendance and textbook procedures.
  • Preparing the annual academic budget in collaboration with the Assistant Deans.
  • Leading bi-annual curriculum meetings and benchmarking peer universities for program development.
  • Manage effective reporting and analysis.
Graduate Admissions & Advising

  • Managing all aspects of graduate admissions and advising.
  • Attending recruitment events and committee meetings.
  • Maintaining and improving workflows for admissions and advising.
  • Providing academic, career, and personal support to students.
  • Planning and executing graduate orientations.
Administrative Support

  • Supporting the JMC Academic Office with course building, curriculum requests, scholarships, and room scheduling.
  • Coordinating with central FSU offices to deliver timely reports and communications.
Graduate Assistant Oversight & Events

  • Managing graduate assistant hiring, training compliance, and tuition waivers.
  • Liaising with research faculty to support GA needs.
  • Collaborating with the Marketing and Events Manager to plan graduate student events, including graduation celebrations.
Other Duties

  • Supporting JMC events and special projects.
  • Ensuring delivery of mutually defined services and responsibilities.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and six years of experience. (

Note:

a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with graduate programs and or higher education administration.
  • Familiarity with academic budgeting and project planning.
  • Student advising experience.

The Jim Moran College is seeking a candidate who is a skilled collaborator, possesses excellent communication abilities, and has experience advising students. Previous experience in advising students at the graduate level is preferred. This role requires effective communication with various stakeholders and necessitates timely and frequent coordination to ensure success.

What is a typical day like?

The typical days will vary during the semester. It will include scheduling graduate-level student and teaching schedules, managing graduate student complaints or issues, coordinating graduate admissions, and advising, coordinating academic administrative support for Jim Moran College’s entire academic office, and ensuring mutually defined services are provided.

What is expected in the first 60-90 days?

In the first 60-90 days, this position will be expected to attend various training courses relevant to their job duties. They will regularly meet with graduate students, faculty, and staff to learn about our programs and processes, as well as begin helping with coordinating admissions, classes, etc.
