The successful candidate must show evidence of the potential to produce internationally recognized policy-relevant research at the Assistant level or have a strong track record of publication success at the Assistant level. Duties include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, service responsibilities, and engaging in IGC programming.

• Contribute to research and scholarship through high quality publications in top-tier venues.
• Teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
• Engage in The Florida Institute for Governance and Civics programming.
• Standard service responsibilities commensurate with rank.

• Completion of all doctoral requirements prior to employment.
• Ability to demonstrate clear potential to produce frontier research that is policy relevant.
• Strong track record of publication success at the advanced Assistant level.
• An established record of successful teaching at the university level, commensurate with the rank being sought, and a demonstrated ability to teach and participate in the Department's undergraduate and graduate programs.

Florida State University Department of Economics, along with the Florida Institute for Governance and Civics (IGC), invite applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank. This position will be within the Department of Economics and will also have a joint affiliation with the IGC.

The Department of Economics is the largest department in the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy. We have 32 full-time faculty and an active research program. At the undergraduate level, we offer an economics major, economics minor, as well as several specialized studies programs. At the graduate level, we offer both an MS program and a PhD program. Our MS program has a strong applied focus and is designed to be completed in twelve months.

Our PhD program has graduated over 250 doctoral students since 1967. Through coursework and fieldwork, students gain the knowledge, skills, and academic credentials needed for careers in business, government, academy, and the private sector.
