Overview
NW Florida Area Water Resources Discipline Leader – Tallahassee, Florida. Lead a team of Water Resources engineers supporting high-profile transportation and infrastructure projects in Northwest Florida.
Responsibilities- Provides leadership and oversight to a team of professionals with focus on client satisfaction and quality outcomes.
- Leads the development of a water resources discipline team by recruiting new talent and capabilities to the firm.
- Creates an engaging and empowering work environment, communicates clear expectations, and provides performance feedback through regular meetings, recognition, coaching, and mentoring.
- Oversees and leads the delivery of multiple, high-profile projects that expand client relationships and grow the portfolio; provides subject matter expertise throughout the project.
- Drives operations excellence, including profitability, operational efficiency, resource management, and quality deliverables.
- Leads client relationship development activities with client managers and business development teams to drive top-line sales growth.
- Leads development and execution of win strategies for high-profile core business and critical pursuits in collaboration with business development and marketing teams.
- Active, good-standing Professional Engineer license in the state of Florida.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive water resources engineering design experience.
- Experience leading and designing stormwater management for transportation-related infrastructure.
- Proven experience providing technical guidance to staff, including reviewing work for technical accuracy.
- Proven experience managing and mentoring engineering staff.
- Proven experience with business development including client relationship development, proposal writing, and presentations.
- Proven leadership with an understanding of effective management practices.
- Project and budget management skills with strong business acumen and broad understanding of engineering business principles.
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, prioritization, process improvement, and written/oral communication skills.
- Ability to engage and empower teams, interact with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Professional demeanor and ethical standards; leads by example with clear guidance and expectations.
- Ability to market services to existing and new clients.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Micro Station/Open Roads Designer, and drainage design software (ICPR, HY-8, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS).
- Experience working with FDOT District 3, City of Tallahassee, and other local municipalities.
- Experience with the design of public utility relocations for water and wastewater utilities.
