APQP Engineer — On-Site in Tallassee, AL
6-Month Contract (Extension Possible)
Location: Tallassee, AL (On-site only — no remote)
Duration: 6 months, with potential extension
CUI Training:
Mandatory for all resources
Access: Full access to data, Windchill PLM, and manufacturing shop
About the Role
You’ll drive APQP deliverables—
PFD, PFMEA, Control Plans, and SPC
—for composite parts (wings, aileron, rudder) supporting an aerospace/drone-related program. Expect tight timelines, deep cross‑functional collaboration, and a heavy focus on risk mitigation and supplier alignment.
Must-Have Skills
- 5+ years of relevant APQP / Quality Engineering experience
- Strong hands‑on experience with PFD, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC
- Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive risk mitigation
- Experience ensuring compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory requirements
- Strong statistical analysis capabilities
- Proven experience working with suppliers on quality system and process compliance
- CUI Training eligibility and completion
- Ability to read/interpret drawings, procedures, BOMs, FAI, and contracts
- Technical or Engineering Degree (required)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead APQP Lite activities:
PFD, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC for submission - Identify risks and drive mitigation strategies
- Track corrective actions from initiation through implementation
- Participate in design and product reviews ensuring producibility, reliability, safety
- Conduct benchmarking and analyze process capability data
- Support corrective actions to address nonconformance
