Graduate of an approved Sonography program
Experience
Minimum:
One (1) year experience as a Sonographer
Registry
Registered with ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography); BLS also required.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer, you will utilize ultrasound equipment to help create quality images for obstetrical and gynecologic physicians to interpret during exams. This aspect of perinatal care includes setting up and adjusting diagnostic equipment, educating patients, verifying the accuracy of patient information, and performing technical data entry as necessary. Maternal fetal medicine sonographers focus on taking diagnostic images and matters directly related to that.
- Perform ultrasound type procedures and examinations with guidance from the physician.
- Exert independent judgment and interpretation of the anatomy they are scanning.
- Ensure proper patient care and safety while the patient is in their care.
- Assist providers as necessary during ultrasound procedures.
- Follow Universal Protocol/Golden Moment when doing procedures.
- Ensure compliance of documentary guidelines of ultrasound scans and other medical records as pertains to the imaging procedure or examination i.e., patient consent forms when appropriate, and patient clinical history data.
- Participate in ongoing charging of procedures at the completion of the ultrasound examination
