Senior Human Services Program Specialist

SENIOR HUMAN SERVICES PROGRAM SPECIALIST -

This position is a highly responsible professional role within the Viral Hepatitis and Outbreak Response Section. It provides technical assistance and program reviews related to hepatitis counseling, testing, referrals, prevention, immunization, and other hepatitis programmatic issues. The position evaluates counties to determine whether they are using available resources and applying to the State and the Department of Health laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols, and objectives.

It is responsible for accumulating this information and making appropriate recommendations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of public health principles and practices in viral hepatitis prevention, testing and treatment
• Knowledge of viral hepatitis, including C, its transmission, prevention, and treatment options
• Knowledge of state rules, regulations, policies procedures
• Skills in conducting quality improvement sit visits and consultations to ensure compliance with laws, rules and guidelines
• Skills in data visualization, and the ability to generate meaningful reports to support decision making
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare reports
• Problem solving skills to identify issues, recommend solutions, and implement in the hepatitis program
• Ability to represent the program at meetings, conferences, and on calls, and effectively convey program objectives and goals

Qualifications:

• Minimum – Experience of providing technical assistance and training to staff
• Preferred – Two years or more of experience Bachelor of Sciences
