We are looking for an experienced safeguarding practitioner with a strong drive to make a difference. You will have the passion to inspire every student to reach their full potential regardless of their starting point.
Base Pay RangeWellbeing and Safeguarding Adviser – 0.88 FTE (36 hours over 38 weeks)
Salary: £30,917 – £32,930 (Pro‑rota £27,206 – £28,978)

- Provide effective and high‑quality safeguarding and wellbeing support in accordance with the College’s responsibilities.
- Work alongside curriculum staff and the wider Progress Team to deliver strategies that meet the needs of individual students by removing barriers to learning.
- Pro‑actively promote the safety and wellbeing of students throughout the college.
- Maintain a specific caseload of students while being on hand to deal with any safeguarding and wellbeing issues that may arise on a daily basis.
- Proven track record of safeguarding or wellbeing support, ideally in an educational setting.
- Experience with the appropriate mechanisms for dealing with safeguarding and child protection issues.
- Sound understanding of the range of issues facing young people with barriers to learning (social, emotional and behavioural).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy, with the ability to remain calm and a problem‑solving approach to challenging situations.
Resilience and outstanding interpersonal skills, negotiation and diplomacy skills; a relevant Level 3 qualification in safeguarding or wellbeing (or equivalent) coupled with a Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy.
