Position: EHCP High Needs & Transition Coordinator
Location: Ashton-under-Lyne

EHCP High Needs & Transition Coordinator

Join Tameside College as the EHCP High Needs & Transition Coordinator, where you will support students with additional learning needs to achieve their full potential across the college experience.

Responsibilities
  • Work alongside the Learning Support Coordinator and assist the Team Leader to remove barriers to learning for students with additional needs.
  • Oversee the learner journey for students with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and/or high needs, from transition into college through to preparation for next steps.
  • Collaborate with curriculum teams to break down barriers ensuring academic and social success for learners.
  • Maintain effective relationships with schools and local authorities and manage EHCP tracking and funding systems.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Relevant qualification and/or equivalent experience;
    Level 2 qualification in a vocational or Key Skill area, with intention to progress to Level 3 linked to support, learning or disability.
  • Thorough knowledge of legislation concerning learners with difficulties/disabilities (SEN Code of Practice, Single Equality Duty, Health and Safety).
  • Broad curriculum knowledge across BTEC, City & Guilds, NVQ, Apprenticeships.
  • Experience supporting learners with difficulties/disabilities across curriculum areas and addressing social, emotional, behavioural challenges.
  • Experience planning and delivering support across all course levels, using a range of methodologies, including Assistive Technologies and exam access arrangements.
  • Enthusiastic, resilient, highly motivated.
